Hi, my name is

Jay Svoboda

I'm a Software Developer from Vancouver, Canada

About Me

I am a software developer currently pursuing my bachelors degree at Simon Fraser University, with a major in Computing Science and a minor in Mathematics. My main interests in computing are cryptography and machine learning. I have experience programming in Java, JavaScript, Go, Python, C#, C++, and C.

For the term project in my machine learning class, I modelled land-use change using neural networks. The models generated were used to predict future land-use maps in the City of Surrey. Land-use and road network data was obtained from the SFU SIS Lab and City of Surrey Open Data Catalogue.

In April 2014 I decided to get my hands dirty and develop an Android application called the Turn Down For What Button. It was inspired by the popular song "Turn Down For What" by DJ Snake. The application has received over 3,300,000 downloads and a 4.1/5 star rating on the Google Play Store.
